Changing Tides

  Every morning during the summer, Ptown inhabitants check the high and low tide. Will you walk Betty on the beach? Is there an afternoon swim at the Jetty? Is there enough beach for a walk? The day's schedule is often adapted to the tide. there is an understanding that on a particular hot day with a 1pm high tide, meetings are canceled.

 Sometimes, I forget where the tides are and I happen upon a generous tide. This was one of those moments. How blessed I felt connected to this tide. There is nothing I need to do. I am connected to this beautiful animated world, this harbor. She sparkles at me inviting me into the cold water. There is nothing else except the salt on my skin. I turn back and see the evidence of a fleeting rendezvous. I have everything.
